4 Tips to Consider Before You Leave on Vacation
With summer in full swing, families across the country are heading off to vacation. Wherever your travels may lead you, there are a few important points of consideration to keep in mind before you embark on your trip.
1. Secure Your Home
Law enforcement professionals and Private Investigators agree that it’s best to line up security measures BEFORE it’s too late. Consider alerting trusted neighbors of your planned absence and be sure to suspend all mail and deliveries while you’re away. Furthermore, consider investing in security solutions like an alarm system or security camera to monitor your home for activity while you’re gone.
2. Suspend Social Media
While it may be tempting to publish your family photos on Facebook or Instagram, your social media activity could be received by the wrong audience. Though your intent may be to only share your pictures with loved ones, it’s easy for thieves to get a hold of this information and use it for malicious purposes. As soon as burglars catch wind of your absence, they will see your vacant home as an easy target for invasion.
3. Plan Well in Advance
Be sure your travel plans are well documented in advance. Not only will this be beneficial for your own planning and organization, but it will also serve as a safety precaution as well. If you’re planning to travel by car, consider investing in AAA or a similar roadside assistance program. And never, ever leave any personal belongings in your car.
4. Line Up Your Training
