Investigative Student Spotlight - Brandy Marshall
We would love to introduce to you our most recent student spotlight, Brandy Marshall. With a passion for research and a quest to help others uncover answers, Brandy found her calling as a Private Investigator and received encouragement from her mentors and close circle of friends.
We took time to catch up with Brandy and discuss her career and online experience at NITA. Here is a highlight of our call:
Tell us about yourself and your career path: Brandy stated she started her career as a firefighter and then later she became a deputy jailer and fell in love with investigations. She soon learned that there are truly “three sides to every story” and she loved uncovering the truth. As she was studying in the CSI path, she had a teacher notice her investigative potential, stating that Brandy always needed to know the answers and loved the research. With her mentor’s encouragement, Brandy took the leap from CSI training and decided to pursue her Private Investigator career.
What is the best part of working in the investigative field? As a PI, Brandy enjoys the criminal aspect of investigating and working towards solutions. She has learned that there are many out there that need a “louder voice” and Brandy works hard to find answers and give closure to those who need it. She stated that “my greatest achievement is the reward of helping others.”
What career advice would you impart to future Investigators? For future investigators, Brandy commented that you should, “adapt and overcome and make sure to keep an open mind about your career.” Brandy’s own career took a different path from her original plans, and she stated she is “proof that you can change.” Take that leap of faith and follow your passion!
You have several options for online training, why did you choose NITA? Brandy stated that she, as a great investigator, researched her training options and NITA stood out to her. NITA’s customer service and the ability to communicate with knowledgeable staff was the selling point for her. Brandy had several questions about NITA’s training and appreciated our staff’s honest answers and how the NITA’s staff worked with her through the entire student process.
Would you recommend NITA to others? Brandy said, “yes, I would definitely recommend NITA to others!” She has recommended NITA’s training to potential investigators in the industry and loves the flexibility option – you can study in your care, at home, or anywhere.
