Course Description

Cybercrime threatens our financial and economic stability, way of life and national security. As a result, cybercrime has become the most pervasive multi-national threat of the 21st century. These crimes also, known as computer crimes, use computer network, to steal financial or intellectual property (including personally identifying information) or compromise national security by crippling the critical infrastructure of a nation-state, government, business or utility. Cybercrime may also be used to violate privacy, promote harassment or perform trafficking in illegal substances or services.

From the investigator’s perspective, the key to understanding cybercrime and other forms of cyber-attacks is to ask and answer the fundamental questions: Who, What, When, Where, Why and How Much.
