Course Approval:

NITA is an approved training school through the Texas Department of Public Safety. NITA holds an Active F School License: F28395401 as a Level 4 and Level 3 Training School. Stakeholders are Steve Cassell and Jeff Dingle

Course Description

This 6-hour course follows TAC 35.141 for the Level II Training Course and a test is required of all non-commissioned security officers, commissioned security officers, and personal protection officers.

NITA's training is in compliance with the TAC Title 37, Part I, Chapter 35, Subchapter L, Training Guidelines. Available in a 100% online format that lets you learn whenever and wherever you want, this course provides an in-depth review of the proficiencies needed to apply for a Private Security Level II Security Officer's license.

Course Completion

All courses include an end-of-course examination. Students must pass the exam for each topic above to receive credit for the training.

For the Texas Level II Non-Commissioned Security Officer Course - Please note that NITA will mail to you via USPS an original certificate of completion (TEXAS Form PSP-36) upon successful completion of the examination. This original document will need to be added to your application for proof of training.

Please be advised under the Private Security Act (Occ. Code, Chapter 1702) and Administrative Rule, §35.4 (37 Tex. Admin. Code §35.4), a criminal conviction may disqualify you from a commission or a license under the Act. For a list of disqualifying offenses and the related periods of ineligibility, review §35.4, available on the department’s website at http://www.dps.texas.gov/rsd/psb/index.htm (click on the Laws tab and then click on Administrative Code) and §§1702.113 and 1702.163 of the Act, as applicable. You also have a right to request from the department a criminal history evaluation letter under Occ. Code, §53.102

Is NITA’s training completed entirely online, or are there in-person requirements?

NITA's courses are 100% online.  There are no in-person classes or physical attendance requirements. All classes are on-demand, except for our Florida Security trainings and our live, instructor-led trainings, which are online through Zoom. Everything you need to complete your training is available through our online learning platform.

What requirements are needed to begin a course with NITA?

What do I receive when I complete the course?

Upon successfully completing the course and passing the exam, NITA will issue you a Certificate of Completion. This certificate is typically required as part of your state license application. Details on how your certificate is delivered are included in each course description.

Can I take a NITA course if I have no prior experience in investigations or security?

Absolutely. NITA's pre-licensing courses are designed for people entering the field for the first time. No prior experience is required. The curriculum is built to take you from the basics through everything you need to meet your state's licensing requirements.
