Course Approval:

NITA's course for Private Security Contractors in Illinois meets the guidelines from the Illinois Detective Act (225 ILCS 447/15-25) Section 15-20 for private security contractors and employees in order to obtain a PERC Card (Permanent Employee Registration Card). This is the approved minimum of 20 hours of training that is required to be completed within 30 days of employment as a registered employee of a security agency in Illinois.

Course Description

NITA's security online training course will overview our training expectations and proceed to cover the history of security guards and the legal issues encountered as a security professionals. We will review proper communication and report writing skills for security and how to develop client and employer relationships. Next, in NITA's training, you will encounter the best practices of patrol and observation and review the fundamental aspects of situational awareness. And, finally, the course dives into a review of the Illinois Private Detectives Act and the Illinois administrative code so that you can succeed as a private security professional in Illinois.

NITA's comprehensive training is offered 100% online and 100% on-demand, making it easy to study on your own time and your schedule.

Course Outcome

Upon passing with a 75% or higher, the student will immediately have access to a printable diploma. If requested this diploma can be mailed to the student.

Course Completion

All courses include an end-of-course examination. Students must pass the exam to receive credit for the training. Certificates will be available online immediately for all students.

NITA's courses are 100% online.  There are no in-person classes or physical attendance requirements. All classes are on-demand, except for our Florida Security trainings and our live, instructor-led trainings, which are online through Zoom. Everything you need to complete your training is available through our online learning platform.

What do I receive when I complete the course?
